Congratulations Washingwell!!! - Washingwell last night took 1st place at the Gateshead Council 'Whickham in Bloom Summer Garden 2009 Competition' awards in the 'Best Kept Gardens/Class Project' Class. Washingwell were up against three other local schools, Lobley Hill, Gibside and Front Street. Well done to everyone involved with special thanks to Parent Governor Tina Turner, Miss McKenzie and all the children who take such good care of the garden. Picture to follow.

Washingwell Friends Association are holding a Coffee and Cake Afternoon on Thursday 21st May at 14:15pm. Any donations of cakes, buns or biscuits would be very welcome. All funds raised to go towards the Medieval Summer Fayre.

We're going to have a Fun Friday on 1st May. We will have a non-uniform day and we will also be holding a skip-a-thon sponsor. All children will be taking part in a sponsored active skipping event. This, regardless of money raised, is part of a fun event promoting the benefits of physical activities.

Washingwell Football Team will be in action on Friday 1st May 2009 in a friendly match against Marley Hill Primary School. Kick off is at 14:45pm on our school field. Why not come along and give us a cheer.
